Understanding What's Going On, One Step at a Time

An autism assessment gives you clarity, not just a label. At Coach For Mind in Gurgaon, our team conducts a structured evaluation to understand your child's social, communication, and behavioural patterns, and to explain clearly what we find and why it matters.

ISAA-Based

Using the Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism, the government-recognised evaluation framework.

RCI-Registered Team

Clinical psychologists experienced in child neurodevelopmental assessment.

Clear Communication

A detailed report explained in plain language, with next steps you can actually use.

Does This Sound Familiar?

  • Your child doesn't respond to their name consistently, or seems to prefer being alone over playing with others.
  • Speech and language have developed differently than expected, or your child repeats phrases without clear communicative intent.
  • Your child shows strong reactions to sounds, textures, or changes in routine that seem more intense than typical.
  • A teacher, doctor, or family member has gently suggested you get an evaluation, and the thought has stayed with you.
  • You want clarity, not just reassurance, so you can make informed decisions about support and schooling.

If any of this feels familiar, an assessment can give you real answers, whatever they turn out to be.

What does an autism assessment actually tell you?

An autism assessment evaluates your child's social communication, behaviour patterns, and sensory responses against structured, validated criteria. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental difference, not an illness, and it presents differently in every child. Rather than a single test, our assessment draws on your child's developmental history, structured observation, and standardised tools to build an accurate, individual picture, then explains it to you clearly.

It also helps to know what an autism assessment is not designed to answer. Where a child's core difficulty sits with reading, writing, or spelling, a learning disability assessment is asking a different question; and where you want a fuller picture of how your child learns, reasons, and copes with academic demands, a psychoeducational assessment is usually the better fit. These profiles also co-occur more often than parents expect, and if what we see points somewhere other than autism, we will tell you plainly rather than leave you to work it out.

The Tools We Draw On

There is no single "correct" test for every child. Our clinicians select from a set of validated tools based on your child's age, presentation, and what the assessment needs to establish.

Certification

ISAA

The Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism. Government-recognised for evaluating severity and, where relevant, for disability certification. Suitable for ages 3–20.

Early Screening

INDT-ASD

A quick, India-adapted diagnostic classification tool, useful for early identification in younger children, typically ages 1–14.

Severity Rating

CARS

The Childhood Autism Rating Scale, a widely validated tool for identifying autism and rating its severity from age 2 upward.

Gold Standard

ADOS-2

A structured behavioural observation used internationally as a gold-standard reference, applicable from toddlerhood through adulthood.

If You're Considering Disability Certification

Our team conducts a full autism assessment using ISAA, the government-mandated tool for evaluating autism in India, and provides a detailed clinical report. If you choose to pursue formal disability certification, for school accommodations, government benefits, or a UDID card, that report supports your application to the District Medical Board at Civil Hospital, Gurugram, which issues the official certificate.

A private clinical assessment cannot itself issue a government disability certificate, but a thorough report from our team makes that process considerably more straightforward.

Common Questions About Autism

Autism arises from differences in brain development, largely influenced by genetics. There is no single known cause, and extensive research has found no link between autism and parenting style, vaccines, or diet. It is not caused by anything a parent did or didn't do.

Autism isn't something a child grows out of, but with early support, many children develop strong communication, social, and coping skills, and their functional challenges can reduce significantly over time. The goal of assessment and intervention isn't to "cure" autism, but to help your child build on their strengths and feel understood.

Cost varies depending on the tools used and the depth of assessment needed for your child. Reach out via WhatsApp or call, and our team will walk you through what's involved and the current pricing for your situation.

Early identification, sometimes from as young as 18 months to 2 years, is possible and valuable, since early support tends to have the strongest impact. That said, assessment is meaningful at any age, and older children and teens who were previously missed can still benefit greatly from a formal evaluation.
